The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) in conjunction with the Global Industry Development Network (GIDN) will next week host a group of international associations in Qatar, showcasing not only the best of what Qatar has to offer, but introducing the associations to potential partners in the Middle East.

In alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 which highlights economic, social, human and environmental development as the pillars that will propel Qatar’s economy forward, the group of associations will spend three days in Qatar.

As well as experiencing the best of what Qatar has to offer, the associations will be introduced to potential local host partners for their international meetings during a range of events hosted by the QTA.

Scott Campbell, Executive Director of the GIDN made mention of the opportunities that the familiarisation trip will create “At this point in time there is very little collaboration between US based international associations and the Middle East, this familiarisation trip will however aim to develop new working relationships between US based international associations and organizations in Qatar. These relationships will not only help US based associations grow their network in the Middle East, but they will assist in the development of local industry”

Mr Campbell went on to further mention “Qatar is now home to a variety of first class meetings facilities, providing international associations with an excellent choice of meeting facilities, with the opportunity to participate in truly unique local experiences.

Having recently hosted the 32nd Conference of the International Society for Quality in Health Care, as well as the World Conference of the International Traffic Medicine Association and the General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association, Qatar is fast developing itself as a hub for international meetings in the Middle East.

Being centrally located between North America, Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific provides Qatar Airways with the opportunity to fly to over 150 different destinations around the world, providing conference delegates with ease of access in to Qatar.
